LATHAM, NEW YORK (September 30, 2013) – Sustainable IT solutions provider TurnKey Internet, Inc. announced today the launch of their TurnKey Desk Partner Program. As an independent partner of TurnKey Internet, reseller clients are able to earn commission off supporting the setup and sales of the brand new TurnKey Desk Virtual Office Network. The “TurnKey Desk 2.0” allows users to easily access what traditionally would be their desktop, now on a smartphone, tablet, or thin client.

“Our intention is to setup a network of independent partner reseller clients throughout the US that are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to promote and sell the Turnkey Desk 2.0.” Tim Kirsch, Executive Vice President at TurnKey Internet stated, “We have already had some great success with this program with the limited exposure we have promoted thus far. Now that the major upgrades with the Turnkey Desk 2.0 are in place, we feel we are ready to expand our efforts utilizing a network of localized resellers.”

The TurnKey Desk can be used for companies in which hundreds of employees are able to share files and documents with each other, be it down the hall, across the country or around the globe. Files can be accessed, shared and stored securely to help make sharing documents easier and more efficient. The TurnKey Desk can be preloaded with applications useful for both individuals and businesses. Such applications include Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as any customizable business applications needed.

“One of the reasons why the virtual desktop market is expanding is because of their ability to replace aging office Desktop PC networks and save companies money,” CEO, Adam Wills said. “For example thin clients cost far less than PC’s with less moving parts and need for maintenance. Since thin clients are only being used to access the virtual desktops, there are almost no IT related costs for companies once it is setup.”

[Press Release] – TurnKey Internet, Inc. expands footprint to New York City   no comments

cranedayLATHAM, NEW YORK (September 18, 2013) – Sustainable IT solutions provider TurnKey Internet, Inc. announced today the completion of their fiber optic interconnection to New York City’s global communication hub, 60 Hudson. The addition of the new, direct fiber optic connection, allows TurnKey Internet to enhance their network redundancy and to further expand their high-speed connections worldwide. TurnKey Internet’s SSAE-16 certified data center, located in New York’s Tech Valley, gives the green IT solutions company increased connection to clients across the country and around the globe.

“By placing direct fiber-optic connectivity to 60 Hudson from our Latham, New York data center, we have expanded both our capacity and redundancy that we provide for our customers.” TurnKey Internet’s CEO, Adam Wills, said. “With the expansion of our data center earlier last month, we have had increased demands and requests for additional network capacity. Whether they are in the stock-trading industry, the ecommerce industry, or if they work with customers around the world, this expansion of our footprint will guarantee our clients the highest performance available.”

60 Hudson, located in lower Manhattan, New York, has been the center of telecommunications across the globe for over 80 years. Winning the Storage War   no comments

StorageWarArticle_Blog

Our CEO and President, Adam Wills, was recently featured in this month’s Capital Magazine! Adam discussed the beginnings of TurnKey Internet and how with a small team here at our green data center, we’ve been able to work with over 13,000 clients in over 100 different countries. Starting in 1999, TurnKey has gone through multiple phases to reach where we are today. And if you have been keeping up with us here, on Facebook, or on Twitter, you will know that we show no signs of slowing down!

“High-speed Internet back in the early to mid-2000’s wasn’t really ubiquitous everywhere, and it’s not what what we understand what it is today. Especially with the concept of mobile-devices that we have now. The iPhones, and a few years later the Droid, had been invented, meaning that people could communicate anywhere on the go. They needed a centralized place, and they needed a centralized communication channel and have that data stored. We saw the opportunity on the horizon.”

[PRESS RELEASE] – TurnKey Internet, Inc. Offers Colocation Deal During Expansion of Data Center   no comments

cranedayLATHAM, NEW YORK (August 28, 2013, 2013) – Sustainable IT solutions provider TurnKey Internet, Inc. announced today that after a month of ongoing expansions to their data center, the company will be offering a deal to new clients on colocation services. This offer allows clients to sign up for three free months while placing their IT infrastructure into TurnKey Internet’s SSAE-16 Type II certified data center. With this colocation service, TurnKey Internet provides the benefits of tech management and superior uptime, as well as giving clients their own complete control and accessibility to their servers.

“We have seen an increase of interest for colocation services from both companies across the globe and right here in New York,” said TurnKey Internet’s CEO, Adam Wills. “Many of whom are looking to have their IT infrastructure managed because of our business continuity. Our clients’ servers are placed among the most energy-efficient equipment to date, and in a green and sustainable data center. With the expansion of our facility, we want to welcome new clients to show them the benefits of colocation, and how TurnKey can help simplify their IT needs.”

TurnKey Internet hosts clients’ infrastructures in cold-containment pods, which use the highly energy-efficient SmartAisle™ technology. Rather than companies having to hire a tech team to manage their own equipment in-house, TurnKey Internet’s technicians are able to manage client’s equipment in their state-of-the-art data center. Clients also receive the benefit of having around-the-clock tech support, 365-days a year. TurnKey Internet’s data center became Energy Star certified in early 2013 and was also approved to be part of the ReCharge New York program, created by New York’s Governor Cuomo. This program has allowed TurnKey Internet to receive clean hydroelectric energy, and has allowed the data center to run off 100% renewable energy.

Cloud Tip of the Month- August 2013   no comments

cloud and exclamation sign illustration

Why move to The Cloud? Here is August’s cloud tip!

Cloud Architecture is Exceptionally Flexible

The entire concept of cloud computing is divided into three forms of cloud. These include Public cloud, Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud. All three have significant characteristics; however their choice depends on the personal requirements of businesses.

Check out the benefits!

  • Public Cloud

In this type of cloud form, data stored is in a cloud server- which is located at a distant place elsewhere. It enables users to share and access data from anywhere and at any point of time. This means public cloud promotes shared environment for businesses. It can save having to hire a tech department and can be placed in a data center like TurnKey, where our techs can handle your entire IT infrastructure.

  • Private Cloud

A private cloud is beneficial for those organizations that do not want to share their confidential data with any third party. Data stored in a private cloud is secured in the firewall settings, which enable only the authorized parties to access data and do not invite any third party. The private cloud model is good for super-secure businesses, but tend to cost more to buy all the equipment and hire techs.

  • Hybrid Cloud

A hybrid cloud is a mix of both and gives users or business entities the advantage of both the cloud environments. Suppose, a business enterprise wants to share its services and products with its clients across the globe, but at the same time wants to hide the confidential information from them, Hybrid cloud architecture would suit best for such types of businesses.

cranedayLATHAM, NEW YORK (July 31, 2013) – Sustainable IT solutions provider TurnKey Internet, Inc. announced today the expansion of their Latham, New York data center. Just 15 months after opening their flagship data center, TurnKey Internet will be installing their next phase of additional equipment, floor space and staffing to further develop their high-tech, cloud-based infrastructure. This comes in part from their funding received from New York’s energy development fund – NYSERDA.

“Because of the distinctive design within our green and sustainable data center- located in the heart of New York’s Tech Valley- we have seen exponential growth and non-stop demand for the expansion within our facility and with our cloud-based services,” said CEO, Adam Wills. “We’re excited to announce that we are ahead of schedule with our expansion and that this will allow us to increase our facility’s total capacity by 50 percent.”

Using equipment like their cold-containment pods, which uses the highly energy-efficient SmartAisle™ technology, TurnKey Internet has proved to be a leader in green-IT. In the past year, they teamed up with Energy Star and became one of two Energy Star certified data centers in the state of New York. The program, created by New York’s Governor Cuomo, was set in place to help companies receive clean, hydroelectric energy. With the use of their green-technology, their solar-panel roof system, and the hydroelectric power, TurnKey Internet’s data center uses 100% renewable energy.

We are STILL at it! Our tech team has been working everyday around the clock to get our data center- phase two- complete. With the delivery  of a brand new pod, it sometimes feels like an IT Christmas around here. In fact, we feel like little kids when a new shipment arrives and we get to unload it… it’s like unwrapping new toys. Then we get to play with the toys,  put everything together, show our friends and hey! We didn’t forget the cookies!
