The upgrades include multiple 100G Tier 1 transit and dark fiber providers for increased redundancy and performance, as well as upgraded Cisco and Juniper network hardware to help meet the growing demand for Colocation and Cloud solutions.

TurnKey Internet’s latest upgrades to its flagship New York Data Center continues to strengthen the company’s enterprise-class cloud-based infrastructure, which currently provides solutions to clients in over 150 countries. During the upgrade, TurnKey made significant cost investments into their core routing and distribution hardware, including the installation of multiple fully redundant, high-performance Juniper MX480 routers. The new routing hardware delivers unmatched flexibility and reliability to support advanced services and applications, while also separating control and forwarding functions, to provide maximum scale and intelligent service delivery capabilities.

In addition to the hardware upgrades, TurnKey also joined the New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) via direct fiber connection. The expansion increases total capacity of the New York data center with two additional cold containment pods with over 2500 additional server capacity and includes Tier IV features with all-new redundant cooling and backup power systems to meet the growing demand for Colocation and Cloud solutions.

On Tuesday, December 12th, our primary Data Center in Albany NY will be undergoing power maintenance and upgrades with National Grid to complete the installation of our new 2N (Fully Redundant) Generator System.

During this time, power to the building will be diverted for safety reasons, and our data center will be operating on our redundant diesel power generators. Various contractors and vendors will be on site to ensure everything goes as planned. There will be no service disruption or downtime, this is an informational notice only.

This upgrade will be providing our Albany Data Center with a fully redundant and independent 2N Generator System that sources from multiple Fuel Systems, flowing through multiple ATS (Auto Transfer Switch) systems, along with our already N+2 Redundant Cooling systems to continue to upgrade our facility at the highest level of redundancy and reliability possible. Upon completion, our Albany Data Center will be ranked in the Tier IV category for redundancy and reliability, and continue to be the best and most reliable facility in New York’s Capital Region.
